In 2022 the Diocese of St Albans introduced a new investment policy resulting in additional investment income being received. This investment income has enabled a number of grant schemes to be launched including the Major Net Zero Carbon grants below:

The following grants are available in the Net Zero Carbon area:

Due to a change in the funding available to support energy audits from the national church and the expiry of the agreed price audits with Parish Buying’s supplier we are currently exploring what support we can offer for energy audits in future.

The national church are funding grants to help parishes to fund simple steps to reduce their carbon emissions in line with the Practical Path to Net Zero.  These grants will be distributed during 2024 and 2025 in a number of tranches and are administered by the pastoral and advisory team. Funding of up to £10,000 will be awarded for eligible stand-alone works and there are a number of criteria which must be met -please read the application guidelines carefully before submitting your expression of interest – the link for which is within the guidelines document.

Grants to support parish projects in the net zero carbon area (to a maximum of 20% of project costs or £25k whichever is lower). Allocated on submission of applications to the Parish Grants Committee. £315,000 has been allocated for major parish projects.
