Churchwardens are lay parish officials who are elected annually at the Meeting of Parishioners (usually held immediately before the Annual Parochial Church Meeting or APCM). Their duties and responsibilities are set out in the Churchwarden’s Measure 2001 and they are ex-officio members of the PCC.
Annual Parish Meetings and APCMs for 2026 will be held between 1 January and 31 May. Full information on our APCM webpage. Details and forms for the nomination, election and admission of Churchwardens for 2026 will be available per Archdeaconry on the links below shortly.

Churchwardens will be admitted by their Archdeacon at a Visitation Service. There is a choice of dates for which we will ask you to register, and which we ask churchwardens to make every attempt to attend.

Churchwardens need to be elected and admitted by the Archdeacon every year, regardless of their length of service.
