Growing your Church

Welcome from the Flourishing Churches team!

As a team we exist to support you in the flourishing, health and growth of your church and context. We aim to resource and equip you to be able to join in with all that God is doing, to help you grow flourishing Christ-centred communities, where people of all ages and backgrounds are nurtured as disciples of Christ and can share His transforming love with those around them.

As Church Growth Officers, Revd Kate Lomax (Church Growth Officer for Hertfordshire) and Revd Nick Smith (Church Growth Officer for Bedfordshire) work as part of the Flourishing Churches team. Our role is to support, equip and encourage churches in numerical and spiritual growth and in love and service of their local communities as we Live God’s Love together.

One of the key ways in which we do this is through support with Mission Action Planning.

We can also facilitate input through coaching; providing a space for leaders to explore the challenges and joys of the context and any barriers to growth, to help find solutions, fresh ideas and a positive way forward. We offer coaching sessions on a one to one basis or as part of a small group or Action Learning Set. An Action Learning Set is a group of up to six church leaders, who meet regularly throughout the year, led by a trained facilitator in a coaching style. Get in touch with us to find out more.

We can also support you through mentoring, facilitation and teaching. In addition we can sign post you to other key practical resources you may need related to mission and growth and leading missional change in your context.

Our aim is to build an ongoing relationship with you and your church and together work towards its growth and flourishing.

We are supported by our administrator Kathryn, who is the point of contact for Mission Action Plans and for the Parish Giving Scheme.
