School admissions

The Board of Education supports the work of schools on Admissions matters by

• Advising schools on their annual review and determination of admission arrangements

• Enabling schools to develop admission arrangements that reflect their individual mission, aims and local context

• Keeping schools updated on any changes to the School Admissions Code and other relevant legislation and government guidance

• Advising schools on the application of their admission arrangements and on admission appeals.

Please note

We expect a new School Admissions Code to be issued at some point during the 2026-27 academic year and diocesan guidance will be updated once that new Code is in place.
