More than 40 young adults from churches in Hertfordshire and Barnet gathered earlier this week for an evening of food, conversation and worship hosted by Bishop Jane.
On a warm summer evening the young adults enjoyed a barbecue together, with plenty of time to catch up with friends, meet new people and share what was happening in their lives and faith journeys.
The group also spent time praying and reflecting on the story of the feeding of the five thousand, thinking about God’s provision and what it means to offer what we have to him.
During the evening, the Revd Sharon Ejinkonye, Vicar of St James, New Barnet, and Bishop Jane shared reflections and encouragement, helping the group explore what it means to live out their faith as young adults today.
The supper was a valuable opportunity for young adults to build relationships, worship together and be encouraged in their faith.
The Revd Dan Drew, Assistant Director of Mission and Ministry and part of the Growing Younger and More Diverse Team, said after the evening:
“It was amazing to see the openness of the young adults. We engaged in the Examen and Lectio Divina, reflecting on the feeding of the five thousand. We also heard from Jono and Matthew, members of the Alban Way, who shared their experiences and insights with the group.”
