Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

1. Worship
• Plan, lead and develop The Four – our service currently aimed at families and children, with scope for change and an intergenerational focus.
• Plan and facilitate a dynamic teaching programme for children and youth that encourages spiritual growth.
• Plan, lead and develop our musical worship at both services ensuring that it is inclusive of all ages.
• Occasional leading and preaching at our 10.30am service.

2. Discipleship
• Plan, lead and develop our fledgling youth group, creating a safe and joy filled space for questions, faith building and invitation.
• Development and oversight of mid-week groups for the whole church.
• Development of discipleship activities and material for families to explore faith together.

3. Community
• Tots – plan, lead, oversee and develop our weekly toddler groups, creating a safe space, engaging with parents and carers of 0-4s.
• First Friday – plan, lead and oversee our monthly seniors’ group, providing an opportunity for connection and support.
• The Gathering Place – plan, lead and develop our monthly all age community café, encouraging gentle and appropriate faith conversations.
• Primary School – continuing to build bridges with the local primary school through assemblies and curriculum support.

4. Outreach
• Alpha – overseeing the Alpha course as a key event for evangelism and welcoming those exploring and new to the faith for all ages.
• Holiday Club – plan and lead a short annual holiday club for primary school children.
• Pancake and Light Parties – plan, lead and oversee annual pancake and light parties, engaging primary school children in activities and sharing the Christian faith.
• Develop imaginative initiatives to reach all ages in the parish especially the Meriden estate.

5. Leadership and Administration
• Key member of the church leadership team
• Contribute to the development of the vision for the whole church
• Build and nurture a healthy volunteer culture including recruitment, training and management of volunteers
• Administration oversight of rotas, meetings, health and safety and communication
• Ensuring all ministries are fully compliant with safeguarding policies and promoting a culture of safety

Person Specification

Essential
• A Spirit filled committed and practicing Christian who understands the authority of scripture and is rooted in prayer
• To be able to demonstrate a passion and calling for all ages to encounter God
• Experience of working with all ages and the ability to communicate the Christian faith and Biblical teaching in a way which is accessible and inspiring
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Ability to lead, encourage and work collaboratively with volunteers
• Understanding of safeguarding best practice
• Excellent pastoral, verbal, and written communication skills
• Ability to work both on own initiative and as part of a team

Desirable
• Relevant qualification or training in church leadership, children’s, youth or family ministry
• Experience leading youth, children’s and toddler groups
• Experience working in a church context
• Musical ability
• First Aid training
• Full driving licence
