RETREAT IN DAILY LIFE – OCTOBER 18th – 25th 2026
Back for 2026, book now for your chance to spend a week in guided prayer and reflection in the midst of your every day life.

A WEEK OF GUIDED PRAYER

For more than 10 years now, we’ve been enriched in Luton by elements of the Jesuit tradition including regular weeks of guided prayer led by our good friend Stephen Hoyland and his band of trusty guides.

The Retreat In Daily Life is a chance to journey and reflect with a prayer guide for half an hour a day over the course of a week. Your guide will, in a prayerful atmosphere, help you reflect on your prayer and life and help you explore how you might become more open to the movements of the Spirit.

There will be an opening meeting for the whole group at 7pm on the 13th October, at which you will meet your prayer guide for the week and arrange your meetings with them throughout the retreat. This meeting will be in-person and on Zoom so you can attend in whichever form you prefer.

At the end, there will be a closing meeting at 8pm on Sunday 20th October to pray together and share something of our experience of the week. This one’s just on Zoom so you can join from the comfort of your own sofa.

Through this retreat experience, our hope is that you are better able to notice, savour, and respond to the movement of God in your life after the retreat.

The retreat is led by Stephen Hoyland (who works for the Jesuits). All the prayer guides have received training in Spiritual Accompaniment and, with the exception of usual safeguarding practice will hold anything shared in confidence.

This year, there is a subsidised charge of £30 per participant, to cover costs for the week. You’ll see two ticket options to book your place. Eventbrite charge us £3.22 for each ticket sold. If you choose the “including admin fee” option, you’re choosing to pay that additional £3.22 to support the costs of running the event. Eventbrite get paid either way – by doing this you’re making sure that more of your money goes to cover the costs of the guides, their expenses and the venues we use.

Once you have booked, you will be sent a short questionnaire so that you can let us know whether you’d like to participate in the retreat online or in-person, and to give some idea of your availability during the week.
