The context of our churches and the wider community in which they sit is constantly changing and evolving. The need to be committed to understanding as much as we can about our context is crucially important if we are to know how to better love and serve it.
The story of our church and how it has changed and evolved, what is its nature and character, what people form a part of it, what are its challenges and its joys are all important questions to consider.
In terms of the wider community context – how well do we know our parish or our local area? Who lives and works there? What are their lives like? Knowing as much as we can about these things helps us to better build relationships and partnerships and serve our communities with the love of God.
