Taking Care of your Buildings Contents

This training was led by Archdeacon Janet Mackenzie, assisted by members of the DAC team, and took place online in November 2024. It covered the following:

• Why is this important and how does it support your Mission and Outreach
• The Church Property Register (also known as the Terrier and Inventory)
• Relationship with your Professional Advisers and Quinquennial Inspections
• Resources that are available including advice about filming, lettings and professional advisers

The following resources are now available:

• DAC Presentation slides
• The DAC advice leaflet on the Church Property Register
• The DAC advice leaflets on Professional Advisers and Quinquennial Inspections
• Guidance on Filming in churches and churchyards
• Guidance on lettings. Please note that we expect an Additional Matters Order on Hiring Church Property within the Faculty Jurisdiction early next year and we will circulate it when available.
