The Benefice of Aston, Bramfield, Stapleford, Waterford and Watton at Stone is a grouping of five parishes that have a long tradition of Christian worship within their respective communities. The five communities upon which the Benefice is based are all different, ranging from Bramfield, which is a distinct small village slightly out on its own, through Stapleford and Waterford, both of whom are small communities on the A119 road to Hertford from Stevenage to Watton at Stone, which at around 3,000 inhabitants is the largest village. Aston is the most recent to join the benefice and is sited close to Stevenage off the A602.

- Is comfortable with rural life in the five parish Benefice and desires to be visible in the community
- Has leadership qualities and vision to focus on the development of the Benefice and welcome new members to the congregations
- Will engage with the church congregations to strengthen their fellowship
- Is keen to encourage lay participation in worship and pastoral care and will delegate when appropriate
- Enjoys working with young people but maintains an awareness of the needs of older members of the parish communities
- Is an inspirational and effective communicator and teacher
- Is a person of prayer who will build up spiritually in the Benefice and encourage overall spiritual growth
- Will help us engage with the Diocesan Vision ‘Living God’s Love’
