Turning Intentions into Practice

Thank you for supporting ministers in the pilot. Your role is to help translate agreed objectives into practical next steps, pointing to diocesan CMD provision and appropriate external opportunities, and encouraging sustainable rhythms of learning and support such as spiritual direction, pastoral supervision, mentoring or coaching. Your reflections on the timing, the hand-over from consultants, and the usefulness of resources will guide improvements before full implementation.

Meeting Ministers and Shaping Support

Ideally within six weeks of the completion of their MMDR (when the agreed forms are shared with the Bishop’s Staff) meet the minister to explore their objectives in detail and to identify realistic routes to resourcing them. Attend to wellbeing and capacity as well as content, and resist over-loading plans; the goal is growth that is hopeful and sustainable. Share back any observations about access barriers, the clarity of signposting, and where an additional diocesan offering or partnership might meet common needs surfaced in the pilot.
