The money for this area of work has been agreed in principle, pending updated proposals

A further £1.23m is agreed in principle to consider further, mainly for children and young people’s workers across Hatfield, Luton and Watford. Updated proposals are required for approval.

What this would fund

– Children, youth and family workers embedded in local contexts (churches, estates, schools links), aligned with diocesan training and support

– Clear delivery plans that show how activity leads to discipleship outcomes and sustainable ministry.

How parishes not receiving a funded post can connect with the vision

– Shared training, resources and learning from what works

– Diocesan grants (Small and Major Mission Grants) to support local pilots and mission initiatives

– Advice and coaching to help you shape mission in your local context.

What it could look like locally

– A parish starts or grows Messy Church or a youth discipleship pathway with small-grant support

– A deanery shares volunteer training and a simple pathway for 11–18s

– A church builds a new partnership with a local school and grows a local team.
