Collective worship in church schools
All schools are required by law to provide a daily act of collective worship. In Church of England schools, the Bible and the life and teaching of Jesus underpin collective worship which is inclusive, invitational and inspirational.

Diocesan resources
Supported by the Board of Education, the Schools Team are able to design and develop a number of innovative resources to support flourishing Collective Worship and spiritual development in church schools and their communities. Creating these resources is the work of Schools Team members, often in collaboration with other diocesan teams and colleagues and peers nationally.
We are currently delighted to offer the following:
Heart for the Earth – a suite of resources to support diocesan schools’ thinking around climate change and the Net Zero Carbon objective.
Plug-in-and-Play – a spiritual exercise resource created by members of the Schools Team and an introduction to Examen, a technique of prayerful reflection
God in this Place – a suite of resources supporting the Board of Education’s Vision for Education, for schools to explore, celebrate and live out their distinctive Christian vision.
‘In Conversation with…’ – a series of interviews with experienced practitioners in the world of collective worship. Alongside each video is a ‘top tip and take-away’ resource, providing think-pieces, signposts and questions to reflect on in school.
Creating Inclusive Worship for All – a suite of guidance documents to support the inclusion of pupils with additional needs within regular acts of collective worship in school and local parish church
Racial Justice Collective Worship Plans – collective worship resources for primary and secondary schools that address questions of racial justice
