Jazz Under Gaia: Rest and Rise

Based on short biblical texts and prayers, Rest and Rise: A Jazz Requiem is a musical acknowledgement of our mortality and the anguish of grief, as well as an uplifting expression of the power of human consolation and faith in God’s love that gives hope beyond death. Set in the evocative nave of St Albans Cathedral – which over centuries has welcomed, witnessed and held the full range of human life – the premiere of this new jazz suite will be a powerful, moving and hopeful concert by an outstanding group of some of the UK’s top jazz musicians.
