Randomness doesn’t always have a good reputation among Christians. It’s often viewed as something chaotic, uncontrolled, or even a departure from perfection. For some, the idea that a powerful, purposeful Creator works through random processes — especially those central to evolution — can feel difficult to reconcile. But what if randomness isn’t a flaw at all? Drawing on insights from physics, chemistry, biology and engineering, Professor Cowburn will reveal how randomness is not disorder, but an essential, powerful and beautiful part of God’s creation — driving creativity, complexity, and innovation throughout the natural world.
