Flitwick, Bedfordshire

Flitwick, Bedfordshire

Flitwick is a growing and increasingly diverse Bedfordshire town, situated between Bedford and Luton and well connected by road and rail. With a population of around 15,000, it is a community that continues to develop, with new housing bringing people of different ages, backgrounds and stages of life into the town. While Flitwick has a strong sense of community, it also has the character of a commuter town, with direct links to London. St Peter & St Pauls sits on the edge of town and countryside, which has its own challenges, however with its historic roots going back over 900 years and its peaceful churchyard, it is a draw for many people.

We seek to serve the whole community , with four schools, three care homes, civic responsibility and links to many organisations within the town, we strive to build strong community links.

Letchworth, Hertfordshire

Letchworth St Paul, Hertfordshire

Letchworth Garden City, the first ever Garden City, is a beautiful place to live and minister. The town comprises of two very different demographics, and the parish of St Paul’s contains both. We are a lively and active church where the many problems we have are good problems! Namely how to accommodate the new families we are welcoming on an almost weekly basis. We are blessed to have a Children, Families and Youth worker, an Administrator and volunteer Ops manager, as well as two Associate Vicar’s supporting the Benefice.

We are seeking a curate to serve a benefice of three churches, ranging from a large and growing Charismatic Evangelical church to a small, liturgical, high church. We offer a wealth of opportunity to explore what it is to minister in a traditional context, and a rapidly growing informal context with 60 under 16s on a Sunday.

The Three Churches Benefice

3 Churches Benefice, Hertfordshire
(pictured together with original parish church of St James)

We are excited to offer a brand new curacy in our Benefice of 3 churches in semi-rural Hertfordshire. We have a vision to be one church in 3 buildings, outward looking to our community, supporting our 2 church schools, and getting out into the harvest fields.

We have 3 churches in 2 parishes which abut each other in a triangle of countryside between Hoddesdon, Harlow and Hertford, set along the River Lea and the New River. Two of our churches are medieval and one is Victorian, but all have unique history within the communities they serve. Our beautiful villages have good transport links into London and via the A10, with good amenities.

We have strong links with our schools and a growing community of families involved in the church through our outreach and mission work. We have been welcoming new disciples and going deeper into God through our Life Groups. See our Church Life pages on the website to learn more about us.
